"Young people of America and the World, listen to what Christ the redeemer, is saying to you." The Pope John Paul II
Q: Does God really know me?
A: The answer to that universally asked question is a resounding YES! You were made in God's image (Gen 1:26). God knew you even before you were born (Jer 1:5). God Himself created you in your mother's womb (Psalm 139). He foresaw all the actions of your life (Psalm 139), and "knows well" the path of blessings laid out for you (Jer 29:11). In fact, God (who is the source of all love - 1 Jn 4:7-8)) loves YOU so much that "while we were still sinners Christ died for us" (Rom 5:8). Why did God do it? Because He loves you so much that he wants you to freely be His sons and daughters (Rom 8:15-17). Sounds to me like God knows you and loves you!!
Q: Do priests really have the power to forgive sins?
A: First of all, let's get something straight - only God can forgive sins! Since Jesus is the Son of God, he says of himself, "The Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" and He exercised this divine power. Following his resurrection, Jesus gave this power to his disciples to exercise in his name: "When Jesus had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." (John 20:23). The sacrament of penance and reconciliation is a continuance of this apostolic ministry! There's so much more to know about the history, authority, and practice of reconciliation than we could say here - so see what the Church has to say at http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2chpt2.htm#41.

Q: When flipping a penny, is it better to call heads or tails? A: You shouldn't be betting. Shame on you. But because you asked, here's the answer: it depends. If you have a "lucky side," farbeit for me to tell you to change. But if you want to play the odds, pick tails. The heads picture weighs more, so it ends up on the bottom 50.5% of the time. Maybe not a big difference, but for those million flip contests at a youth group overnighter, you'll see the difference!
Q: Do herrings fart to communicate?
A: They just might - kinda like some youth group kids I know! For humans, farting has been known to clear a room. But for some types of herring, flatulence might be a way to "talk" undetected by predators - helping them stay alive. Just make sure to hold your nose when swimming with the herrings!

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would
have
produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. If you fart
consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create
the energy of an atomic bomb.

The term "devil's advocate" originates from the Roman Catholic church. On deciding if someone should be sainted, a devil's advocate is appointed to give an alternative view.
